She had told that there is a lot of nepotism in the industry. In an old interview, she had told that star kids get a lot of films even after being flops.
How did you get the films?
Talking about her journey, Prachi said in an interview to Times of India, ‘I am very grateful to Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Abhishek Kapoor for Rock On. I was very young then and I did not have many friends in the industry. I don’t think anyone took me seriously at that time because maybe they thought I was a one-film wonder. Thankfully, after my debut, I got Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and then Bol Bachchan.’
The actress struggled
Talking about nepotism in the industry, she said, ‘But I always had to struggle because I was not an industry kid. Outsiders don’t fit in as well as star kids do. We outsiders don’t get as many chances. Getting a big film is very rare. But star kids get film offers on a platter, while most of the time their films flop! With all due respect, I think I can honestly say that it is always difficult for an outsider.’
